Manual
The short user manual
Everything you need in plain language — what the tool is, how to take it, and what to do with the result.
1. What this tool is
The Study Leak Diagnostic is a short reflection tool. It looks at how studying actually happens — not how much of it happens — and points to the place where effort is most likely being lost.
It is not a test. There are no right answers. It is not a medical, psychological or formal academic assessment. It is a practical starting point.
2. Before you start
Set aside 5–7 quiet minutes. You do not need an account and it costs nothing.
Each statement is answered on a simple 1–5 scale, from “never like me” to “always like me”. Answer as things really are, not as you would like them to be. Honest answers give useful results; flattering answers give useless ones.
3. During the diagnostic
The 25 questions come in five short sections, one per possible leak. Use Next and Back to move between sections — you can also change an answer before you finish.
Your progress is saved automatically on this device. If you close the tab by accident, open the diagnostic again and you pick up where you left off.
4. Reading your results
Your profile names your strongest leak, with a score out of 25 and a plain-language label. You also see your second-strongest leak and a chart of all five, so you know what to watch next.
The important part is not the number — it is the repair step. Each result comes with a first repair step, a 10-minute rescue task you can do today, and a recommended next tool.
5. What to do afterwards
Do the rescue task on the same day if you can. Small, real repairs beat big, vague plans.
You can view a printable report, download the full PDF, and share a summary with a parent or teacher. The printable pages are designed to look right on paper — use your browser's print dialog.
6. Privacy
Your answers stay on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you ask for the report by email — and only the email you type is used for that.
Sharing sends a general summary and a link, never your individual answers.
7. If something looks wrong
Want a clean slate? Use “Start the diagnostic again” at the bottom of the results page to clear everything.
If the page says the diagnostic was not completed yet but you thought it was, your progress simply was not finished on this device (or in this browser) — start again or use the sample preview button.
